The MCP server | Salary Data API
The MCP serverSalary Data API as tools for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code.
The MCP server gives an assistant the API as tools, so you can ask it about pay in plain words and it calls the API for the figures. It comes with Analyst.
Adding it
| Claude | Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector: the address above. Claude signs you in with your Salary Data API account. |
| ChatGPT | Settings, Connectors, Create: the address above, signed in the same way. |
| Claude Code | claude mcp add --transport http salarydataapi https://salarydataapi.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" |
| Cursor | Settings, MCP, Add: the address above, with your key in an Authorization header. |
The tools
get_pay, list_countries, country_headline, search_series, series_history, find_occupation, occupation_across_countries, occupation_distribution, gender_gap, compare_countries, rank_countries, convert_money, adjust_for_prices, latest_releases. Each calls the API with your own key, so your plan and its limits apply as they do to any call. Every tool in full.
An example
Asked "How does a nurse's pay in the UK compare with Finland?", the assistant calls find_occupation for nurses, then occupation_across_countries, and answers from the figures, naming each country's period and currency.
